About me

Well I thought I would start a blog about my flyfighing addiction! My name is Michael Tincher. I live in Lewisburg Greenbrier County. I have been flyfishing for about 10 years, and running. In high school my flyfishing addiction struck me and myself and 2 of my high school teachers started a fly fishing club for the students at Greenbrier East High School. I don't remember the number of students from our first year but I'm going to guess it was around 20-30 students. In 2005 our numbers went out of site. We had more students then we could handle in our club. I started writting letters to business's asking for donations to our club. There was some nice generous business's that dontated fly rods, reels, line, leaders, and tippet. Thanks to this club it kept me interested in the fly fishing world. I was acting president for both years of the club and wish i was still active in the club but after graduation I had to part.

After high school I wasted some money by going to college to Glenville State. I was going to major in Foresty but ended up majoring in BEER!! So after one semester I decided to hit the road. After leaving college I came back home and thought I was going to get to fish.. haha that was a joke. WORK WORK WORK was all I got to do. Had to pay bills so work took over play. Didn't get to fish much but that would soon change though I thought.

In Feb 2007 I started working at the 911 center in Greenbrier County as a 911 telecommunicator. This job took about 3 months of training which first ruined my fishing then working overtime and turn around shifts put the smack down on my fishing again. I thought to myself this is 2 years with little to no fishing, somethings got to change.

In January 2008 I decided i needed more money so I was working at 911 and started working at a local ambulance service part time. After 11 months of working pretty much 7 days a week I decided it was time to start fishing so I stopped working so much. Finally by the end of the year I got 5 days in on the water. My poor fly poll hadn't seen the water in almost 2 years.

2009 is a different story. Started the year off with my beautiful girlfriend heather. Which BTW loves to fish. Got a co-worker and friend of mine into fly fishing. Converted my girlfriends brother and father into fly fishermen. I tell ya it's a year to remember so far, well over 200 trout this year on the fly rod. Won big fish at the Serenity Now Outfitters Annual Fly Fishing Tournament. And only a handful of days with the spinning rod.

Hope everyone enjoys the blog, I will try and keep it posted often. Thanks for reading.
